Solar & Wind Feasibility Screening

Renewable Siting Analysis

Know whether on-site solar or wind generation is worth pursuing on a parcel — and roughly where — before you commit capital to it. A desktop screening, not a bankable resource assessment.

The Problem

Renewable feasibility is usually decided after the fact — once a design is drawn or a parcel is under contract.

Whether a site can support meaningful on-site solar or wind generation depends on terrain shading, exposure, setbacks, and slope constraints that are not visible from a listing photo or a plat map. Finding out late means a redesign, a missed incentive deadline, or capital committed to a system the site can't actually support.

This service answers the go / no-go question early and cheaply, from the same authoritative public data and in-house GIS stack behind Mamook's zoning and site-context work — before you engage a solar installer or wind developer for a full engineering-grade assessment.

Service Tiers

A Screening, Scoped to What You're Deciding.

Each tier is a standalone engagement, scoped to a single parcel or a portfolio. Bundled with a zoning or site-context engagement when both are in scope.

Screening — Single Resource

$900–$1,400

Solar or wind, one parcel. Terrain-based resource screening plus a constraint/eligible-area map showing setbacks, slope, and environmental exclusions.

Screening — Dual Resource

$1,500–$2,400

Solar and wind, one parcel. Both resource screens plus a combined eligible-area map, so you can compare which — if either — is worth pursuing.

Portfolio Screening

$2,500–$3,500

Multi-parcel batch screening with ranked results, for investors or developers comparing acquisition candidates.

What This Is NOT

Mamook is a planning and GIS consultancy, not an energy contractor. This service explicitly does not include:

  • On-site anemometer or pyranometer measurement, or any field metrology
  • Engineering-grade or bankable resource assessment — modeled data is screening-grade only
  • Equipment selection, sizing, or specification — no turbine, panel, inverter, or battery advice
  • Installer, EPC, or construction services, or any CCB-licensed contracting
  • Interconnection engineering or utility application preparation
  • Turbine, PV, or storage supply, distribution, or dealer/reseller activity of any kind

On-site measurement and a licensed energy engineer are your separate next step. We can describe what that step involves and refer reputable providers, but we neither perform nor mark it up.

Who Orders This

Developers weighing rooftop solar or a small wind turbine as part of a larger project, sold bundled with a zoning or site-context engagement rather than as a standalone cold pitch. Investors and buyers quantifying renewable upside — or its absence — during acquisition due diligence. Rural and coastal landowners and homeowners weighing self-generation against rising utility costs — for this group, the real value is knowing early what a parcel's setbacks, slope, and environmental exclusions already rule out, so a paid installer visit or engineering-grade assessment isn't the first place a disqualifying constraint gets found.

Process

How It Works

Desktop analysis. No field visit or on-site measurement is part of this service.

01

Submit Parcel Info

Provide the parcel address or APN, which resource(s) you want screened, and any timeline constraints. One email works.

02

Resource Data Pull

We pull public terrain and resource data — USGS 3DEP and, where LiDAR coverage exists, a surface model for roof-level work; PVGIS for solar and the Global Wind Atlas for wind, over your parcel and its surroundings.

03

Constraint Overlay

Setbacks, slope, and coastal/environmental exclusions are combined into a buildable-area map using the same layers as our site-context work.

04

Report Delivered

You receive a branded PDF with a resource map, eligible-area map, order-of-magnitude AEP estimate, and applicable incentives on the agreed delivery date.
